Parenting Sessions
Are you struggling with your children?Through video, phone, email or face-to-face parenting sessions, you will learn to:
Effective for children from toddlers through teens Parenting is the most important and toughest job out there and we typically have very little training for it. The parenting tools and techniques that I use are from the powerful parenting program, Redirecting Children's Behavior (RCB). You will learn practical skills such as how to set limits and boundaries for the parent and the child; how to enhance children's self-esteem, encourage cooperation and develop a sense of responsibility. All of this is accomplished through the positive use of discipline. Discipline is viewed as a positive and motivating tool to teach children self-control. Creative ideas and a specific set of techniques are demonstrated for handling everyday situations such as temper tantrums, aggression and helplessness. The course teaches the child to actively take responsibility for their own life; and how to promote cooperation and successful attitudes. The ultimate goal is to create more enjoyment and fun in the relationships between children and adults.

Do you need help navigating the school system and advocating for your child? I am a parent with a child who has a learning difference (who is currently in college) and I am an experienced clinician who can help you help your child get what he or she needs to be happy and successful in school.
Diagnosis includes: ADHD, dyslexia, auditory processing disorder, dysgraphia and executive function deficits Spirited ChildrenDo you look at other parents with their children and ask yourself why does it look so easy for them? Spirited children can easily overwhelm parents, leaving them feeling frustrated and inadequate. Spirited children are, in fact, simply more intense, sensitive, perceptive, persistent and uncomfortable with change than the average child. But they are often also exceptional and incredibly rewarding to have in your life. Through two 45 minute parenting sessions, parents will learn how to come to appreciate their spirited children and will take home proven strategies for handling mealtimes, bedtimes, homework, school and many other situations. |
